Upcoming Shadowdark Events @ the Pointe-Claire Public Library

After last night's amazing session, that's two Shadowdark one-shot adventures done and dusted at the Pointe-Claire Public Library. Both events were for ages 10-17, both events were maxed out with 8 players, and we had a blast both times. Shadowdark is working out great, because it's rules-light enough for people to learn as they play, streamlined enough that we can finish an adventure in four hours, and deadly enough to keep the players on their toes throughout the entire session. It's a great pick-up-and play system.

But one-shots are not enough. The kids want MORE! And so...

For the fall program, we are doing a longer, 6-session adventure. Residents and non-residents can sign up for entire The Incandescent Grottoes campaign here.

For the winter program, we'll be trying the waters with a one-shot adventure for adults (ages 16 and up, to be precise), and we'll be running another 6-session adventure for the age 10-17 crew. No sign up for these yet, but they are in the works.

It feels like we have a winning formula here. Despite leaving with a bit of a wrecked throat from speaking in voices I don't normally, I left feeling pumped. Role-playing really lights a fire with some kids and it's great to see the next generation picking up the torch. Here's hoping for many more dungeon delves in the Pointe-Claire Public Library!
